Let us introduce you to some of the professionals we have lined up for April's conference:


Ben Hoelting
Ben Hoelting - Ben Hoelting: Software Developer, Colorado Technology Consultants, Inc. Graduated from Colorado State University in 1997 with a BS in Computer Information Systems and a Minor in Computer Science. Been in the IT industry since 1996. Worked for the Gates Corporation (formally the Gates Rubber Company) from 2000 - 2005. Left Gates to pursue a consulting career. Currently works for Colorado Technology Consultants, Inc. in Colorado Springs. Most recent projects include a Windows forms Smart Client that requires offline support, an ASP.Net tracking system for the floral industry and Microsoft CRM customizations using ASP.Net. Ben is also a MCP, certified in both CRM Customizations and .NET Framework Application Development.

 

Rachel Appel
Rachel Appel - Rachel has been working as a mentor, instructor, software developer, architect and DBA for nearly 20 years. During her career, Rachel has worked with a variety of languages, technologies and systems and has contributed to projects of all sizes including large scale enterprise applications at some of the world's leading companies. Rachel is the Vice President of the .Net Valley user group, as well as a leader and regular speaker in the Philly.NET and Central Penn.NET user groups of Pennsylvania. She can also be found speaking at code camps, user groups, community events and conferences. Rachel's expertise lies within developing solutions that align business and technology using the Microsoft .NET family of products, particularly ASP.NET & SQL Server. She is also an ASP.NET MVP, ASPInsider and holds the Microsoft Certified Trainer, MCAD & MCSD certifications. She is also a member of the INETA speakers bureau.

 

David L. Penton
David L. Penton - David L. Penton lives in the Dallas, Texas area and has a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Northwestern State University (http://www.nsula.edu), Natchitoches, LA. He currently is a Lead Software Development Engineer / Performance Lead at Telligent Systems, Inc (http://telligent.com). Before that, he was a technical lead for the International Systems Group and then in Merchandising Systems at JCPenney, Inc. (http://www.jcpenney.com), in Plano, TX. Before that, he was a senior business and analysis analyst for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (http://www.lockheedmartin.com/mfc/) in Grand Prairie, TX. During that time he has worked on various technologies. He currently spends most of his time with C# and SQL Server. Database platforms he has dealt with (development and admin) include but not limited to SQL Server, Oracle, DB2. David is a member of the ASPInsiders (http://aspinsiders.com) and was formerly a SQL Server MVP for several years and is now an ASP.NET MVP https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/David.Penton).

 

Donald Belcham
Donald Belcham - Donald Belcham is an independent contractor in Edmonton, Alberta Canada who specializes in software development with the .NET platform. With more than 8 years experience delivering Web and Smart Client applications to clients in around the world, he has experience and knowledge in the entire software development life cycle. Combining that experience with his passion for agile development practices and solid OO fundamentals, Donald works to provide the client with software that works for their business. Recognized by Microsoft for his technical skill and community contribution with the Microsoft MVP award in C#, Donald is a notable leader in the developer community. In addition to being a founding member, and current President, of the Edmonton .NET User Group, Donald regularly speaks for .NET User Groups, Code Camps and conferences around the world on topics ranging from development practices to the intricacies of different technologies. Max Trinidad
Max Trinidad - Max Trinidad is a native of Puerto Rico and has been working with computers since 1979. He has worked with Dbase III/IV, Clipper, RPG, OS/400, OCL/JCL, HTLM and most current MS development technologies. Currently, a Senior IT/Developer at Claire's Stores Inc. providing support for Windows Servers, SQL applications, Virtualization, and IBM i5 series building Visual Studio solutions. In 2009 got his Microsoft MVP award in Powershell.

 

Scott Golightly
Scott Golightly - Scott Golightly is currently an Enterprise Solution Strategist with Advaiya, Inc. Scott is also a Microsoft Regional Director. He has over 15 years experience helping clients to create solutions to business problems with various technologies. Scott has held many certifications including Certified PowerBuilder Developer, MCP, MCSD, and MCT. When he is not working with computers Scott enjoys being with his family and being in the outdoors.

 

Tim Heuer
Tim Heuer - Tim Heuer is a program manager for Microsoft Silverlight. He helps build the worldwide Silverlight community and is very passionate about the platform and technology in general. Having over 13 years of experience with Microsoft web technologies, Tim is excited about the opportunities that Silverlight brings for developers and designers and wants to ensure that everyone has the best information and tools available to them for success.

 

Vishal Shukla
Vishal Shukla - Vishal has been programming since 1991 mainly on Microsoft technologies from GW Basic, Turbo Basic to .net 3.5. Vishal works as a System Architect for the Palm Beach County. He has been actively involved with local user group communities. He has been giving presentations at code camps and various other events like Teched, Studio Launch etc. He also contributes by publishing technical articles on sites like asp.net, windowsclient.net, codeproject, vbdotnetheaven and his own site. He is a INETA Community Champion (2008 Q3)

 

Chris Shaw
Herve Roggero - Herve Roggero is the founder of two companies: Pyn Logic, a database security company focusing on data access control, and Knowledge Stairway, a training company for the staffing industry. His experience includes software development, architecture, database administration and senior management in multiple corporations with both global corporations and startup companies. Herve worked in the Education, Financial, Health Care, Management Consulting and Database Security sectors. In his last full time position Herve was a Director of Software Development at a Health Care company in Florida and started to freelance as a .NET and SQL Server Architect since 2007. He is a member of the ISSA organization, holds multiple certifications including an MCDBA, MCSE, MCSD and an MBA from Indiana University.

 

Jeremy Lowell
Jeremy Lowell - Jeremy has been engaged in SQL Server development, administration and database architecture for over 10 years. In that time, he has worked with many successful corporations including MCI, Wells Fargo, Lucent, Oxford International, IP Commerce, Regis University and others. Jeremy has served as a participating member on a joint FSTC and OMG project (I2PADS), which focus on industry collaboration, initiatives and standards in the Financial Services space. Having recently started his own database consulting practice, Jeremy's philosophy is to enable clients to focus on what they do best by allowing us to do what we do best. Rick G.Garibay
Rick G.Garibay - With over 10 years experience delivering solutions on the Microsoft platform in various industry sectors, Rick is a Principal Consultant and Practice Lead with the Connected Systems Development Practice at Neudesic.

Rick focuses on streamlining business processes while enhancing the productivity of developers by combining modern, iterative software engineering methodologies with technologies such as Microsoft .NET, Windows Communication Foundation and BizTalk Server to deliver business value and drive revenue while reducing operational costs.

Rick is an active speaker and member of the greater Phoenix .NET community and is the President and Co-Founder of the Phoenix Connected Systems User Group. Most recently, Rick delivered a presentation at the 2009 Microsoft SOA and Business Process Conference in Redmond, WA.

Rick's recent publications include "Building Services for Deployment in Transiently Connected Networks with Windows Communication Foundation" for CoDe Magazine as well as "Programming the Microsoft Business Rules Framework" for CoDe Magazine and DevX.

Rick has been recognized by Microsoft Corporation for his contributions to the .NET, SOA and Connected Systems space by being awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional designation for Connected Systems.

When not immersed in the work he loves, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife, Christie and two children, Sarah and Ricky.

 

Chris Shaw
Chris Shaw, Conference Chair - Chris is a SQL Server MVP and started working with SQL Server in 1995 and continues with it to this day. His career has taken him from a Yellow Pages publishing company to Wells Fargo and mortgage companies like Pulte Mortgage. Chris has enjoyed speaking and writing about SQL Server for the last 10 years. The combination of speaking and writing was his guide in becoming the Site Manager for SSWUG.ORG. Chris has been active in the SQL Server Community for a number of years including being the founder of the Colorado Springs SQL Server User Group and speaking as the SSWUG content chair, not only at SSWUG Conferences but at Dev Connections as well. Chris's writings can be found on SSWUG.org, his blog (chrisshaw.wordpress.com) and in the SQL Server 2005 Bible.
