Extending SharePoint Across Your Information Infrastructure

Many organizations have implemented SharePoint and are using it for specific purposes, such as the company intranet, spaces for collaboration between employees, a platform for workflows or dashboards. However, many organizations don’t “push the envelope” and leverage the breadth and depth of SharePoint capabilities fully, simply creating another silo of content and thereby limiting benefits to end users.
In this presentation, Colin Spence will share his experience working with hundreds of organizations to properly leverage SharePoint to more fully meet business needs. For example, Colin will discuss integration of SharePoint with file system content, email content, and other Information Management solutions products such as ECM suites and content archives. He’ll also discuss pros and cons of application development, workflows, forms, and business process development—and he’ll cover the overarching importance of governance throughout the process.
Dave Martin (OpenText) will provide a high-level overview connecting some of the best practices Colin has defined with SharePoint solutions offered by OpenText.  Attendees of this webcast will learn key concepts required to turn SharePoint into a multifaceted, stable, and powerful IT tool set and understand how OpenText products can be a part of this solution.
