ON DEMAND

HP and Microsoft SharePoint 2010: Performance and Characterization

A discussion of user requirements for SharePoint 2010 sizing and configuration and how proper resource allocation through the downloadable HP Sizer for SharePoint 2010 tool can help optimize user performance. Featuring Austin Gonyou, Engineer for HP Alliances Performance & Solutions Center of Excellence, and Rob Lancaster from the Microsoft SharePoint team.

HP and Microsoft SharePoint 2010: Performance and Characterization offers an initial debriefing of the new SharePoint 2010 product by Microsoft, its new features, and the ongoing opportunity for partners to complement SharePoint to help optimize the customer experience. The baton is then passed to HP to reviews its capabilities as Microsoft’s largest infrastructure deployment, top provider of Microsoft services, and engineering partner for SharePoint 2010 and Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) deployments.

The webinar reviews the complimentary HP Sizer for SharePoint 2010 tool can optimize SharePoint deployment with HP BladeSystem servers, including sample configurations on the automatically-provisioned HP Matrix system. Reflecting widespread collaboration between HP and Microsoft, and incorporating numerous SharePoint performance whitepapers written by HP engineering, the Sizer offers a quick and consistent methodology for determining and comparing configurations, as well as detailed, customizable server and storage solutions with BOM and pricing.

Attendees will learn how the HP Sizer for SharePoint helps determine optimal configurations based on SharePoint for entry level, highly available, and application-optimized solutions. They will also learn how it addresses one of the most critical areas of SharePoint server design: performance and capacity planning for the storage subsystem by offering detailed best-practice storage volume and RAID recommendations using HP direct-attach storage, HP StorageWorks MSA or EVA Storage SAN solutions.
