Dr. Melanie Frogozo completed a residency in cornea and contact lenses at the University of Houston College of Optometry. After residency, she took a faculty position at the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, where she continued to develop her specialty. She is the owner of Alamo Eye Care and the director of the Contact Lens Institute of San Antonio located in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Frogozo's expertise is managing complex corneal conditions with specialty contact lenses in both adult and pediatrics. Her additional professional interests include myopia control, treatment and management of blepharitis, and custom scleral lens design. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society, and a member of the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Frogozo enjoys lecturing and is a regular columnist for Contact Lens Spectrum.
