Renee E. Reeder OD, FAAO

Dr. Renée Reeder is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry and completed a residency in advanced cornea and contact lens management at Indiana University. She is an Associate Professor at the Illinois College of Optometry where she began the contact lens residency program and served as the Chief, Cornea Center for Clinical Excellence at the Illinois Eye Institute for 14 years. She currently is coursemaster for the specialty contact lens, microbiology and anterior segment disease courses, the educational technology committee chair and the coordinator for the ocular disease curriculum. She has been recognized with Dean’s awards for cutting edge teaching and for excellence in leadership. Dr. Reeder is active in research and continuing education in the areas of ocular surface disease, scleral lenses, keratoconus, and other cornea and contact lens related issues. She is a Diplomate in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section of the American Academy of Optometry, a Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators, a Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association, and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society. She is an active Lions Club member and currently serves District 1-J Lions as a Zone Chair and the District chairperson for Sight preservation, Awareness and Action.
