Kristy Smith is the Director of Options Learning for Compass Charter Schools. She lives in Tarzana, CA with her husband and three homeschooling children, ages 7, 13, and 16. Kristy has been involved in independent study charter schools for the past 12 years, both online and home study models, and before that taught all levels of high school math at a brick and mortar for several years. She appreciates that there are educational options in California. Along with family and church, her passions include math education, baking, the Spanish language, and reading.
