Webcast Overview
There are lots of different types of managers, and we’ve probably had a taste of all of them.
- The Micro-manager – a boss that is checking and rechecking your status on everything. If he would just give you the space and time to accomplish something – you would accomplish something.
- The invisible manager – a boss that is remote. He could be working in a different state, building or even a different floor of your same building. Regardless, he is rarely seen or heard from.
- The overwhelmed manager – a boss that has so much on his plate that he doesn’t have time to properly direct or communicate with his team. Subsequently, you have a hard time pleasing him because you can not read his mind.
- The inexperienced manager – a boss that is very ambitious and has been promoted beyond his actual experience. It’s difficult for you to get any substantial guidance or direction from someone learning himself.
- And the “Know-It-All” manager – a boss that wants the job done precisely his way– even though he isn’t the one doing the task. This often creates tension especially if you have more relevant experience in this area than he does.
Most of us have had run-ins with a combination of these types of managers.
So, how do we not only successfully impress them – but advance in our profession?
Today’s presentation will cover the 5 Keys to Impressing the Boss, while keeping your own career goals and advancement in focus.
